So far, nothing bad about this kettle

I've had this kettle for 1 year. Only used once a week during summer, but several times a day fall through spring.
Not too many features to consider when buying a kettle, but this one has them covered at an attractive price ($28.00). This kettle is Stainless Steel, has a visible water level window (back lit while kettle is on), boil dry protection (auto shut off), concealed element, cordless, and it pours very well.
The kettle has 5 level indicators; Min, 1.0L, 8 cup, 10 cup, and Max 1.7L. The level indicators correspond roughly to the following ounces: Min=32, 1.0 L=34, 8 cup=42, 10 cup=50, and Max 1.7L=56. I timed how long for each of these levels to reach boiling (auto shut off). I used the auto shut off as the time end because deciding when it is boiling by looking or listening to the water is way too subjective. Depending on your idea of what boiling water looks like, your times could be more than a minute less than these.
All tests started with 70 degree water:
Max 1.7L 7 minutes 30 seconds
10 cup 6 minutes 27 seconds
8 cup 5 minutes 21 seconds
1.0 L 4 minutes 25 seconds
Min 3 minutes 50 seconds |
fills the bill

Unit heats water very quickly. Like the stainless interior as it eliminates the "plastic" taste that is often found in plastic lined interiors. Cover has to be in place before it heats up which is a good safety issue. Cord neatly stores under unit out of the way. Would recommend this kettle and it's a good value for the money.
Still great after 4 years

We've now had this kettle for more than 4 years, and use it several times a day for boiling water. It works great. We use it frequently for tea and coffee, and have never had any problems. Having stainless steel (not plastic) was important to us, and the price was perfect. It's hard to imagine what more you'd get in the models that cost twice as much. Nothing we need, in any event.
this kettle has done us well

I'm surprised to read some of these reviews. We've had this kettle for 2 years, and it works as well as it did when we bought it. I think it looks great, is very easy to keep clean and looking new, and boils water like it's supposed to. Yeah, I guess the body gets hot, but that's what the handle is for. I like mine enough that I'm buying one this christmas for friends.
Cordless Kettle

This is the third and hopefully last electric tea kettle I have purchased. The Hamilton Beach Stainless Steel Electric Cordless Kettle is great. It holds a lot of water, the lid comes completely off so it is easy to fill, it heats up very fast and yet still looks good on the counter. Would highly recommend it.

We received this as a gift two years ago, and after all that time and multiple daily uses, it still works like the day we unpacked it. Having this alternative to rapidly boil water has gone a long way towards my husband accepting the electric stove in our new house. (It took FOREVER to boil water on the range.)
Works faster than a micowave and water stays hotter longer!

My girlfriend received this kettle last Christmas and it's still working...I even use it at times. So easy to use, fill it up 3/4 of the way with water and push down the red tab thingy. Nice and hot in 30-45 seconds...a minute for larger cup full.
Stands up to heavy use

I've had this kettle for almost a year, using it 6 times a day on average (yes I probably have a tea dependency.) I've never had a problem with it. It's a great, inexpensive workhorse for the kitchen.
The best designed kettle ever!

Not only is this kettle incredibly cute, but the design makes it much more functional than other kettles. The lid comes off, which allows you to fill and clean it much easier than the flip-top variety. It heats the water very quickly and has been an absolute pleasure to own. It is priced lower than many others, too. You just can't go wrong with it.
Great Tea Pot!

I bought this after leaving my traditional tea pot on a gas stove and almost catching my house on fire! This kettle works great, is easy to use and looks nice left out on the countertop. Just fill with water, place on base and push the "on" button. The 'Auto shut off' feature keeps me from worrying. The only thing this pot doesn't have that some buyers might want is a whistle to let you know when the water is boiling.

I love this kettle- my parents have the same one too...which is why I bought one for myself. I use it about 5 times a day (I drink A LOT of tea) and it's fast, it looks great and it's easy to pour (sometimes kettles are too heavy to lift when they're full and they hurt my wrist to lift...not the case with this one).
I would completely recommend this! |
It's perfect!

What a great product. After reading the reviews on this maybe I'm lucky but I haven't had any problems at all. It does exactly what I want it to do; boil water quickly and last a long time. It boils quickly and I've had it over 2 years now.

So far I've been using it for several weeks. It boils water really quick. Stainless steel appearance is awesome. Definetely worth the money I paid. Prompt delivery. Before I bought this kettle, I purchased another one made of plastic. I couldn't use it becuase the water smelled of burned plastic, even though there was nothing wrong with the kettle. Returned that kettle and bought this one. Stainless steel is a way to go!!!
We depend on this kettle everyday!

We used to microwave a lot of cups and bowls for tea, coffee, oatmeal -- no more!! One of the best things about the kettle is that you can pick it right up off of its charging base, and set it down anywhere you want on the counter. Nice style; simple, touch-of-a button use. We like the balance in the handle when lifting it, too. Actually got an extra as a present for family.
When it broke, we contacted Hamilton Beach, and their customer service was very accomodating for a replacement, too. |

I received this kettle as a gift 3 years ago, and it still works as well as it did when I got it - it's never had problems. Boils very quickly, holds a good amount of water, and works equally well with different water levels. My friend bought a different kettle after liking mine, and it almost boils over if you overfill it.
GOOD FOR THE PRICE

LOVE THIS KETTLE. I HAVE HAD MINE FOR FOUR YEARS AND IT HAS BEEN GREAT. ONLY PROBLEM I EVER HAD WAS ONE SCREW THAT HOLDS THE HANDLE ON CAME OUT AND I HAD TO SCREW IT BACK IN. I HAVE DROPED IT A FEW TIMES AND IT HAS NO DENTS AND STILL WORKS, WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR?
I ALSO GAVE ONE TO MY SISTER THREE YEARS AGO AND SHE HAS NOT HAD ONE PROBLEM WITH HER'S.
